Zero tolerance
Why is it only in KZN that one can see the complete dedication of road officials to reduce speed and in turn accidents. Ever travelled to Durban by car? There are more cameras between Van Reenens pass and Durban on one stretch of road than I have seen in the entire region of Gauteng. Why is that? Do all the law enforces and traffic officers not want to catch speedsters on the road, to curb the fast speeds and treacherous driving on our roads? Why do all the provinces not have this approach? This brings me to another question. Should the zero tolerance not be engaged on all levels by law enforcers alike? This should be standard across the board along all roads in South Africa. Is it really necessary to warn motorists that there are speed cameras ahead? Surely this should be standard and accepted when using a South African road. The rule should really be simple: You speed you will get caught and you will pay a fine, end of story. Cameras should be up every 5 kilometers or so and on every large intersection.
Here is a snippet from www.arrivealive.co.za showing exactly how proactive KZN has been earlier this year:

We may see the following happening in SA as it happens in the UK:

Regardless it should be done, drivers should be educated and pedestrians must be more aware (That is a whole other topic)
