Phone numbers, emails and signatures
Well I have a Travel Blog and a Web Development blog however I seem to be in a slight void on personal blog space so I have decided to use his site to capture some thoughts that I have. Some points that I ponder or just general chit chat captured on the route of life by myself.
Receiving email on a mobile device is the way forward. With this in mind we need to adapt the way that we send emails and what info we send with the email. Today was a perfect example, I received an email from a new client while I was away from my desk. I needed to speak to the client and browsed through the emails until I found their number in the signature. From this episode I have learnt a few things:
- If you want to be contacted then add your contact details into every email that you send out as often that very same email can loop around to a few different people.
- In your contact details add your website address, blog address – this is free advertising.
- When you add your telephone number in the signature be sure to add it so that if it is seen on a cell phone the user can double click and dial and does not need to edit the number to use it. Here is what I mean: Do not use a number like this +27(0)11 XXX XXXX cause as you know this number will not work when dialed from a cell phone so change and adjust your signature to the following: +2711XXXXXXX or if you are more local then drop the +27 and add the zero…
Does your signature work for you?
