Fat fitness instructors
Hey lets face it I go to gym to loose weight and get fitter. Let me be more frank and blatant, it is not motivating nor encouraging to be told what to do by a mouse or a person that is superbly over weight. Yup I ride a bike and spin at gym as often as I can. We have had a fantastic instructor for the last few months who was manic, fit, knowledgeable and encouraging. This has slouched to over weight late comers called trainers who are really do not fit any sort of profile of a fitness coach of any sorts. Is this rude of me? Is it due to the fact that peanuts are paid and desperation has creeped in on the side of the gym?
One goes to gym to be motivated and instructed to push yourself and find a level of enjoyment and fitness that you can aspire to. You do however get the extremes on boths side and you really cannot please all the people all of the time, we have seen instructors at our gym who are crazy, manic, and way over the top. Now personally I have heard the comments and backlash at the manic insutructors however lets be real if you want instruction rather let it be a manic teacher/ leader/ trainer that you can aspire to ride like rather than a lazier over weight instructor who really has no place at the front of any class. No it is discrimination at all if that is what you are thinking, an instructor should fit the mould inorder to fulfill the role of an instructor and this should be met on all levels, failing that they should be a participant in a class and not the leader of it!
