Man alive, ok lets not go down the road of the actual call costs, interconnection fee this and that nor the drop call rate. Lets look at something different. What is the point in calling someone to leave them a message only to find yourself selecting options to leave a message? What happened to: “Hi this is me leave a message”, now it is “Hi this is me leave a message”, press 1 to leave a message, two if you want to pick your nose in public etc. Now this is also a classic: Once you have left your message please hang up. You twit! I realize how to leave a message and do not need to spend another 30 seconds on the phone to your network to learn how to use a mobile phone! If you are doing this to irritate the general public then my sincere congratulations you have achieved this, well done. Is it to be more efficient? YOU FAIL! You have clearly create a system to get extra seconds from a service that did not generate into a call, lets milk the consumer for everything they have. Surely a profit of 15 Billion rand is a success already? I realize people are out to make a profit however lets do business ethically, justly and fairly, no need to get carried away!
